1954 WILLYS 454 PICKUP
Unique Willys Build
Attention Grabber Wherever You Go
Every once in a while, you come across something that you haven’t seen before. It makes you double take, then it captivates you. You may not be sure why, but you are drawn to it. Maybe it’s the kid in us (by the way, kids love this thing (think ‘Mater from Cars)). That’s exactly what happened to us with this Willys build that a local customer came to us with. The owner, a long-time metalworker, and his son built this one over a few years and a couple of iterations. At one point it had a 350ci motor and a shorter bed with no tow hook. They decided it really deserved to be just a little extra “different”. Throw in a big block and add a tow boom… sure, why not! The final build was finished just over a year ago and they have enjoyed driving around the area talking about the rig at every stop. While the tow hook/winch is not functional for towing vehicles, the owner has used it to pick a motor out of a pickup to place on a dolly.
