This 1970 Porsche 911E coupe was acquired by the current owner on 7/28/89 with 124,980 miles showing on the odometer and is reported to have 3 previous owners. The car has a history of being a lifelong California example having been delivered to Martin-Johnson Porsche, Oakland, CA. on 6/2/70 with 008 miles on the odometer. The Porsche Maintenance Record reflects entries for service at the delivering dealer along with stating the VIN# as 9110220389 and the engine # as 6200607. The current owner has added approximately 21K miles during his 32 years of ownership.
The current owner maintained an “Auto Record” detailing fuel, service and maintenance performed on the Porsche along with chronologically documenting the cars mileage from 1989 to 2017. Copies of receipts are included with the car reflecting the detailed invoices from 1989-2021 and can be seen in the photo gallery. The most recent restoration receipts from 2017-2021 are shown separately.
In 1997, the car underwent an extensive cosmetic restoration documented by the photos shown in the gallery. Beginning in 2017 the Porsche received considerable mechanical refurbishment with highlights as follows:

The 2.2 liter port fuel injected flat 6-cylinder numbers match the #’s shown on the original Maintenance Record as does the VIN number of the 911E. Equipment includes a five-speed manual transaxle, short shift kit, 4-spoke factory bucket seats, added 15” Fuchs “S” type wheels, and a Blaupunkt Aspen SQR24 cassette radio. The factory 14” Fuchs wheels are included in the sale along with several new and take-off parts.
The owner reports that the floor pans were replaced in 1997 and minor patch repair was completed to areas surrounding the rear glass. The extensive restoration photos show the quality of the effort that took place in the 1997 timeframe. The car is finished in Light Ivory (Code 1111/131), its original color with a black interior. The interior and carpets along with other interior components were restored in May, 2021.
This 911E is offered on consignment by the selling dealer on behalf of the current, 32-year owner. In addition to restoration receipts and photos, and a clean California “pink slip” / title will be provided to the new owner.
The car was refinished in its original Light Ivory (1111/131) and features a single left-side mirror, chrome rocker panel trim, and black rubber moldings and bumper inserts. Minor rust repairs were reportedly performed at during the refurbishment in 1997. Close-up photos of the body, paint, and trim are provided in the gallery below.
Refurbished 15″ Fuchs wheels wear Yokohama Avid tires purchased in 2018. The 911E was equipped from the factory with self-leveling hydropneumatic front struts, and this example is fitted with Koni shocks out back. Braking is provided by discs at each corner that were completely rebuilt within 500 miles.
The overhauled cabin features recently re-upholstered and refurbished interior. A 4-spoke Performance Commint leather wrapped steering wheel frames a central 8k-rpm tachometer, a 150-mph speedometer, an analog clock, and VDO gauges. Additional features include a 5-speed transmission with a short shifter, Porsche crested floor mats, 3-point seat belts, and a Blaupunkt Aspen SQR24 cassette radio.
Just over 46K miles are shown on the five-digit odometer, less than 1K of which were reportedly added since the mechanical rebuild. Total mileage is unknown but believed and chronologically documented to be ~146,000 miles.
Engine stamping *6200607* is shown in the photos and matches the engine number listed on the original Porsche delivery documents.
