OVERALL CONDITION

The AMG C63 is in beautiful cosmetic condition both inside and out, indicative of meticulous care over its lifetime. The high gloss black paint is virtually perfect and shows no noticeable flaws / defects. The interior has no flaws or even moderate wear signs on the upholstery and carpeting. The interior is finished in black, not the less sought after red and black.  Cosmetically, the car shows extremely well lacking the usual “bumper rash” often seen even on late model examples.  Also, this car has had only two California owners and an inspection of the underside supports that the car has been used in dry, sunny California.

The extensive photographs reflect the car’s condition including the body, paint, engine compartment, interior, rear compartment and underside.  This is an excellent example of the old adage: “A photo is worth a thousand words.”

This AMG C63 has had one long-time owner and was recently acquired by our customer, a friend of Classic Cars Ltd.  The car was pre-inspected by Mercedes Benz and, recently inspected by the premier Mercedes independent repair facility in Pleasanton.  With 25 years of experience, they evaluated the car and found it to be in excellent overall condition including the comment: “Vehicle has not been in an accident and all paintwork appears to be original.”

Since it was delivered to a Southern California Mercedes dealer, Fletcher Jones Motorcars, the car has been exclusively serviced by MBZ.  A summary of service is as follows

The Car Fax report and repair history are shown in photos in our listing to provide additional documented repair history.

This is a lovely example of a well-maintained, desirable color (especially for aa AMG C63) Mercedes.  It would be difficult to find a better example of a California AMG C63 in this this cosmetic and mechanical condition at a reasonable price offering.

The C63 has been treated with the utmost respect by its current owner.  The car has never been abused in any way, always garaged when not in use and the maintenance schedule followed.  The computer(s) show the car to be free from any “codes” and repairs as supported by invoices / maintenance history.  The Mercedes delivery books including the Owner’s Manual are, of course, included.

HISTORY-MERCEDES BENZ AMG C63

C 63 AMG HISTORY

Mercedes-Benz C 63 AMG saloon (pre-facelift)

The C 63 AMG is reportedly the first AMG-Mercedes designed from the ground up. Its AMG C-Class predecessors had essentially featured bolt on performance modifications, and according to Car and Driver, these earlier AMG models suffered from “relentless understeer” and “heavy steering”.[35] The C 63 AMG has a revised front suspension that is shared with the CLK 63 AMG Black Series.[36] The ESP features a full defeat mode, interfering only under heavy braking. The C 63 AMG also has the quickest, most responsive steering of any Mercedes automobile to date.[37]

The Mercedes-Benz M156 engine, despite being detuned compared to other AMG offerings using the same power-plant, still provides the C 63 AMG with more horsepower and torque over its direct rivals such as the Audi RS4 and BMW M3.[35] The 7G-Tronic 7-speed automatic transmission has AMG “SpeedShift” with three shift modes – Comfort, Sport and Manual – with the last one running with the converter locked allowing the driver to hold the engine at the rev limit. Car and Driver tested the car in their December 2007 issue and recorded a 0–97 km/h acceleration time of 3.9 seconds and a quarter-mile time of 12.3 seconds at 187 km/h (116 mph).[38] This made the C 63 AMG the quickest 4-door production sedan in the world at its debut. WHAT DO THE EXPERTS SAY?

Road & Track: “Fearsomely fast and powered by a V8 / rear wheel drive…”

Driving Magazine: “AMG’s street-legal missile delivers twin-turbo V8 goodness and serious racing thrills.”

Drive Magazine: “But the boffins at Mercedes’ AMG tuning division evidently didn’t get that memo because the 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 in the new AMG C63 is more potent, more fuel efficient and almost sounds as good as the awesome 6.2-litre V8 from the model it replaces.”

Honest John (UK): “Beating the go-to performance saloon is no small task, so Mercedes-Benz has raised its game with the second-generation C63 AMG, with some notable changes. The brilliant and naturally aspirated 6.2-litre V8 has been replaced, with a lighter and more efficient twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8. The C63 also gets a new chassis, with improved suspension and running gear, while a limited-slip differential is now fitted as standard.”  As a result the C63 is brutally quick and the standard model will clear 0-62mph in 4.1 seconds, with 476PS. Torque is plentiful too, with 650Nm available from 1750rpm to 4500rpm, which means the engine has a wonderful power band that starts almost from the moment you touch the throttle.

“The AMG gets a modern and sophisticated cabin with some nice detailed touches, like circular air vents, aluminum trim and a touchpad that’s integrated into the centre arm rest. The infotainment system is also easy to use, thanks to a large 8.4-inch central display, which makes it easy to select radio stations, media or adjust the car’s set up
