THIS PARTICULAR 2018 BMW M5 – HISTORY
While our listings can be lengthy, this particular description will be straightforward and relatively brief (by our standards!) Why? This 2018 BMW M5 represents the nicest, “no excuses” example of high-end sports sedan that we have ever had…period. The car has traveled a total of 12K miles and has the appearance of a new car in every respect.
As is the case with virtually all of our vehicles, the BMW M5 comes to us from a supporter and fined of Classic Cars Ltd. The M5 was purchased with 5 miles showing on the odometer, from a BMW dealer just a few miles from our showroom. Since that time, it has been owned by a long time enthusiast who has owned German cars for many years and maintains takes a cost no object approach to the car of his vehicles.
Immediately after acquiring the M5, the owner had 3M clear bra applied to the front end of the BMW to prevent any damage to the paint/body. The clear bra was applied to the entire hood, front bumper and front end, front fenders, and mirrors.
The majority of the mileage on the M5 was added on one cross country trip through rural areas of the United States. Due to the 3M protection, the M5 remains totally free from any front “road rash” to the front end. In fact, even the clear bra shows no “dimples,” or damage. The windshield is free from chips/imperfections, and the doors, wheels, and front and rear bumpers are totally devoid of dents, dings, or chips. Unlike many offerings in the marketplace, this car is being sold by its original, mature owner/driver, has not been sold through an auction, and has been pampered by a very fastidious, long-time sports car enthusiast.
To say the owner of the M5 was impressed with the car when it was introduced and he agreed with the period road tests / reviews that raved about the car including BMW Power Magazine who exclaimed:
This BMW represents a total “No Surprises” example of a low mileage, one owner, nicely optioned M5 that is in truly exceptional condition and can truly be described in “As-New” condition.

HISTORY OF THE BMW M5
BMW M5 2017 – 2018
The F90 M5 is based on the G30 5 Series and uses an all-wheel drive (“xDrive”) powertrain, being the first time that an M5 has not been rear-wheel drive. However, the all-wheel drive system is biased towards the rear wheels and be configured to send power to the rear wheels only (if the electronic stability control is disabled).
BMW S63 twin-turbo V8 engine
The exterior of the M5 was designed by Seungmo Lim. The car was unveiled at the Gamescom videogame convention in August 2017 (as part of the launch of the Need for Speed Payback video game). The M5 was also shown at the Frankfurt Motor Show (IAA) in September 2017.
The F90 M5 accelerates from a standstill to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 2.9 seconds and to 200 km/h (124 mph) in 11.1 seconds. The top speed is limited to 250 km/h (155 mph), and the delimited top speed is 305 km/h (190 mph) with the optional M Driver’s Package. Despite the added weight of the all-wheel drive components, the weight of the F90 M5 is approximately 40 kg (88 lb) lower than the previous generation M5
In December 2017, the F90 M5 set the Guinness World Records for “Longest continuous vehicle drift” and “Longest twin vehicle drift (water assisted)” on a wet skidpad, with distances of 374 km (232 mi) and 144 km (89 mi) respectively.
The transmission is the eight-speed ZF 8HP automatic transmission. The F90 is the first M5 to use a torque converter automatic transmission (compared with the previous generation’s dual-clutch transmission), which BMW states was chosen for its durability and because shift times are not significantly slower than a dual-clutch transmission.
Impressive would be an understatement. How about the following:
– 0-60 mph: 2.8 Seconds
– 0-100 mph: 6.7 Seconds
– 0-120 mph: 9.7 Seconds
Governed top speed at 163 mph. Skip Pad results .097 g. And this from a 4,269 lb. “family” 4-door sedan!
